The sleek lines of the LiDE 60 |
LiDE is LED Indirect Exposure, which presumably means
that it uses LEDs instead of a tube light like normal (older?) scanners.
This of course has the advantage of being able to take power from the
USB port rather than having a dedicated power supply. |

| I've no idea what the 60 means though, perhaps it refers
to the amount of days before the flimsy hinge gives up the ghost. Even
allowing for the rather hectic life this one has received, no plastic
hinge is going to stand up to rigorous use. Especially as Canon have designed
this model to be used on it's side (although how you stop the paper falling
out before you close the lid is beyond me).
It does do a good job of scanning though and the supplied software is faultless. |
