You should
be aware that guidance levels for the importation of
duty paid cigarettes into the UK are currently higher
than in the rest of the EU. The current limit for importing
duty paid cigarettes into the UK from other EU countries
is 3,200 but the limit within the rest of the EU is
800.
Therefore, if you intend to purchase more than 800,
make sure it is from the last country before returning
to the UK. |

Portugal
Forest Fires
The Portuguese fire service are currently tackling forest
fires in several areas of the country. So far, these
have not directly affected the most popular tourist
areas.
Forest fires occasionally cause road and rail closures.
You should be aware of this and be prepared for possible
delays.
You should be extremely careful when visiting isolated
areas in the affected regions and should be guided by
local fire service authorities at all times. No smoking
is allowed in woodland areas and barbecues should be
avoided. |

Due to
the fire that has destroyed a big part of our site on
the 28 of July 2003, we unfortunately have to cancel
all bookings for the rest of the 2003 season.
As from today, we start the reconstruction of our site
and from this winter we will start the bookings again
for the 2004 season, a brand new season!!
With kind regards,
Management and entire team of Domaine
du Colombier.

Dock and
port workers are planning industrial action on Monday
10th March and Tuesday 11th March. There could be serious
disruption and delays at French ports, including Channel
ferry ports, on those days. You should check the up-to-date
position with ferry companies. |
