There's no doubt that this item of security equipment
is innovative, and coming from a company called 'Riley
Innovations' it's only to be expected.
Initially designed to prevent the theft of unattended
tents, the 'Safeground' has the ability to secure
most objects to the ground either on the campsite
or in the garden.
The
'Safeground' is certainly quick and easy to use and
after a quick glance at the supplied diagram you will
be amazed at how this 'metal puzzle' works.
The box section (2) is first screwed into the ground,
and then the two pegs (1) are placed through the holes
and into the ground. Finally, the padlock is fitted
making it one complete item. It is then impossible to
remove the 'Safeground' without the aid of lifting equipment
or actually digging it out.
Two 45cm x 5/16'' stainless steel pegs.
One zinc plated steel box section screw anchor.
One padlock with three keys.
One steel cable for attaching to tent zip or equipment
All that is seen above ground
is the head of the pegs and the padlock.
The supplied steel cable is used to lock the tent
zip the 'Safeground' making the tent secure or worthless
to the thief if they cut the zip.
Of course there are many items that can be secured
to the padlock such as bicycles, gas bottles, and
outdoor furniture, even the gas barbecue in your own
back garden.
We had the 'Safeground' to fasten our Dalmatian to
while on site. Not because Cruella DeVil might be
at the same campsite, but because Sam has a tendency
to visit other peoples' tents when we are not looking.
